UniSea and Alaska – An Enduring Partnership
UniSea’s partnership with Alaska began 35 years ago in Dutch Harbor on a barge processing King Crab and Tanner Crab. Over the years, we have grown to our current state-of-the-art on-shore processing facilities. UniSea still processes King Crab and Tanner Crab, but we also process Pollock – in both fillets and surimi – Cod, Halibut, and other species. As we have grown, so has our commitment to the environment, the people, and the rich Bering Sea fisheries.
UniSea is fortunate to be able to attract and retain a diverse workforce of US citizens and individuals who are eligible to work in the United States. Many of our employees become US citizens while employed by UniSea and become active, contributing residents of Alaska. UniSea employees have served and do serve on statewide fisheries panels, foundations and advisory panels; the Board of Education; the City Council; and a variety of community service boards and commissions. We are proud of our employees who are committed to producing the highest quality products and to contributing to our nation, our state, and our local community.
However, our commitment does not stop there. The financial and economic contributions made by UniSea to Alaska range from meeting the fiscal responsibilities associated with doing business, to financial and product donations in response to recognized needs and to fundraising requests.
UniSea is proud of our enduring partnership with the great State of Alaska!
