The International Port of Dutch Harbor is located within the city limits of
the City of Unalaska, Alaska.
This booming community boasts the most productive seafood processing port in the
U.S., with five large processing facilities and ships from countries throughout the world.
The port has ranked #1 in the nation for seafood delivered in terms of the
number of pounds processed and total dollar value.
It was once a pivotal military location during World War II and was bombed by the Japanese in 1942. Today visitors can view the installations which have become national historic landmarks.
Other historic sites include the Russian Orthodox Church of Holy Ascension, built in 1825. It's the oldest in the US and now on the National Register of Historic Places.
Scheduled marine tours, processing plant tours, sightseeing, cultural and historic tours are all available. Hiking is easy, although you should be prepared for windy, rainy weather. Wildlife includes marine mammals, large populations of seabirds, songbirds, migrating Asiatic species and waterfowl.

- Location: Unalaska is on the northern end of Unalaska Island in the Aleutian Chain; Dutch Harbor is on Amaknak Island. A 500-foot bridge connects the two
islands. From Anchorage, it's 800 air miles, or two hours by jet.
- Access: Daily scheduled jet service from Anchorage, bi-monthly ferry service May to October.
- Accommodations: Three hotels/motels (256 rooms), one hotel/motel (32 rooms), three bunkhouses (104 rooms), one bed and breakfast; 11 restaurants (seating for 475). Food, gift shops, conveniences, supplies, bank and health clinic.
