Refining Process

Under the GLS brand, UniSea markets Surimi made from the fresh Alaskan Pollock to value added processors all over the world.

Size pack: 2 each 10 kg blocks per case

How it is processed:
Surimi is made from pollock which has been washed, headed,  eviscerated, filleted and minced. The minced meat is then washed repeatedly with fresh water, the water and undesirable proteins are removed between each washing. Then the washed meat is refined, with more water being removed by screw presses. Following this the meat is stabilized by blending with cryoprotectants and frozen in contact plate freezers.
