Basic Function:
Responsible for the food and beverage service of all customers in the restaurant. Must perform accurate cash handling in connection with a variety of payment methods.
Essential Duties:
- Take food and beverage orders from customers, present them to kitchen/lounge staff and serve the finished product. This will include service of alcohol. Strict compliance with all regulations and policies regarding alcohol service is mandatory.
- Clear and set tables according to instruction
- Maintain cleanliness of dining room during operating hours
- Complete all assigned side work
- Ensure all food and beverage orders are recorded correctly and all control measures are observed. This includes the ability to use electronic point-of-sale/register system.
- Maintain high levels of professionalism, server etiquette and customer service
- Develop, implement and maintain Everyday Focus activities to ensure continuous improvements and cost efficiencies in position and department
- Will deliver all food and beverages within a specified time (30 minutes), with attention to completeness and detail
- Responsible for keeping rooms and hallways clean of dirty dishes. Perform scheduled floor walks and room checks to help in this matter.
- Display sound judgment as to when to stop alcohol service. Must be TIPS certified to serve alcohol
- Other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 – 3 years food and beverage service experience and must be 21 years of age
- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure
- Ability to adhere to directives and instructions from Supervisors and Managers
- Able to work well in a fast paced environment
- Must possess the ability to be flexible and work with little or no supervision
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with diverse cultures in a team environment
- Must possess good communication and organizational skills as well as excellent customer service skills
This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $15.00 per hour plus tips.
