Senior Information Technician

BASIC FUNCTION: Provide technical support for all systems within UniSea’s operations, by working directly with end users to troubleshoot hardware and software issues. Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware associated with the Dutch Harbor UniSea Operations. Advanced knowledge of Windows 10 and troubleshooting is required. As well as strong communication skills.

 

Essential Duties:

  • High technical skills with Windows Operating systems to include Windows 7 Windows 10 and Windows 11
  • Knowledge of Active directory, DNS and basic networking functionality
  • Provide prompt, courteous, effective and thorough customer service and follow up to ensure satisfaction and that a solution for the issue has been achieved
  • The ability to troubleshoot and think outside the box as needed
  • Responsible for the setup, configuration, deployment and support for all end user desktop and laptop computers, mobile devices, phones, printers and other enterprise hardware; including PBX administration.
  • Evaluate and analyze hardware and software problems within the computer information system and determine the best possible solution
  • Participate in On-Call rotation to support 24/7 Dutch Harbor production during the processing season
  • Monitor existing software and perform software revisions as required. Maintain system hardware and software to meet industry standards.
  • Responsible for maintaining all communication systems throughout the Dutch Harbor facilities; which includes all computer equipment, network equipment and telephone equipment
  • Responsible for properly racking and cabling devices in the Dutch Harbor network
  • Support and administer third-party applications. Vendor communication is required.
  • Coordinate with Redmond IT team on Dutch Harbor projects
  • Perform other duties as necessary

 

Position Requirements:

 

  • Associate Degree in Computer Information Services or equivalent work experience required. Certifications are an appropriate substitute (CCNA,MSSE, etc)
  • 3 -4 years of related experience with significant experience in Network Administration and end user support.
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills

This is an hourly non-exempt position with a rate of $27.20 – $35.35 per hour.
